“We grant dreams to critically and chronically ill children to the deserving children of our community."

In 1980, The Dream Factory began with one all-volunteer chapter in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Since then, The Dream Factory has grown into the second-largest children’s wish-granting organization in the United States.

The Dream Factory is the only children’s wish-granting organization that does not limit its mission to children who have life-threatening illness. The organization believes children with chronic illnesses and disorders also suffer from substantial emotional and physical pain. We strive to provide hope and relief from the trauma and corresponding stress and depression that both the children and their families can endure on a day-to-day basis. Doctors agree that providing a dream can improve the quality of life for these children and extend the life of a critically ill child.

For children struggling with critical or chronic illnesses like diabetes, cystic fibrosis or cancer, the road may be all too short, and there is little time to realize such big dreams. The Dream Factory exists for them.

Oregon Chapter

Dream Factory of Oregon grants dreams in all shapes and sizes.  Our dreams range from family vacations, new computers, shopping sprees and meeting a favorite celebrity. Each dream is unique and provides hope and a lifetime of memories to these children.  This last year we granted 17 dreams and have 11 approved and pending for 2020! Trips to Tokyo, Japan, Hawaii, Jurassic World at Universal Studios, and a trip to the Nintendo store in NYC are just some of the dreams we granted last year. Our average dream costs $6000.    

For children and their families who live each day not knowing what the future may bring, a dream granted brings a little ray of light, a little bit of hope and a lifetime of memories.
